About
Established March 27, 2022, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, the Tri County HBCU Alliance is an exclusively charitable coporation serving prospective Historically Black Colleges and University (HBCU) students and their parents from Chester, Lancaster and York counties of South Carolina and HBCU alumni residing, worshipping or working in those respective counties.

WHY WE EXIST
​
Many students and their families find themselves without the knowledge and/or tools to successfully navigate college. Education is an essential tool for students to globally compete. HBCUs allow students to study topics from multiple perspectives and study abroad. Some students in the Tri County area are unaware of the great learning experiences afforded by local and national Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
The Tri County HBCU Alliance provides workshops and resources. Our relationship-based service addresses the diverse needs of students that plan to attend an HBCU. We are a liaison between the student, the parent, and the HBCUs. We empower students and parents, so students and parents have what they need to make the best post-secondary educational choices for their families.

OUR UNIQUE RESOURCES

The Tri County HBCU Alliance workshops address choosing the "right" college, applying for scholarships, completing the FAFSA, preparing for ACT/SAT assessments, and enrolling in an HBCU. We provide students and families guidance through the college application process. We establish relationships in high school and maintain those relationships through college graduation.

Our Vision
The vision of the TRI COUNTY HBCU ALLIANCE is to develop, support, and sustain a networking atmosphere that aids students and parents in becoming knowledgeable about HBCUs and provides the highest quality of programs and services through workshops and activities.
